- Kennebec Ultimate Turbine Test raft trips are only offered 4 days a year. The power company tests their turbines at maximum capacity. The normal flow on the Kennebec River is 5,000 cubic feet per second (CFS). On the Ultimate Turbine Test dates, the flow is 8,400 CFS and we run the upper gorge 2 times (the best class 4 whitewater), then float out the bottom section. Two runs of the upper gorge, twice the water volume and twice the fun. If you love whitewater, this is for you.
