Gadabout Gaddis Airport

Both the set of America’s first syndicated TV show and an active destination for private airplanes, Gadabout Gaddis Airport is fully owned and operated by North Country Rivers. Its namesake, Roscoe ‘Gadabout’ Gaddis hosted The Flying Fisherman, an Emmy nominated program which made Gaddis the most famous angler of his time.

Lakewood Theater – America’s Oldest Summer Theater

Lakewood Theater & Inn/Restaurant is located 15 minutes south of the North Country Rivers’ Kennebec-Dead Base Resort & Campground – at 76 Theater Road, in Madison Maine.

To get there, turn right (south) out of our parking lot and follow Rte 201 into Madison. As you come to the Lakewood Golf Course on the left. Turn left either before Beach Road, or after Theater Road to get to the Theater & Inn/Restaurant. Box Office phone number is 207-474-7176.

Maine’s Famous Gifford’s Ice Cream Stand & Miniature Golf

Travel just 20-miles south of North Country Rivers Kennebec-Dead Resort complex. Take a right out of the parking lot, heading south. Follow Rt 201 to the town of Skowhegan. Go straight at the first light and Gifford’s is located on the left hand side at 307 Madison Ave. Don’t forget your camera to take a picture with the Moose!

New Balance Shoe Factory Outlet Store

Travel just 22-miles south of North Country Rivers Kennebec-Dead Resort complex. Take a right out of the parking lot onto Rt 201. Follow Rt 201 to the town of Skowhegan. Stay on Rt 201 and go over a bridge. At the lights turn left. Then take a left onto Walnut Street – 12 Walnut Street.

Skowhegan Drive-In

One of only five drive-ins in all of Maine – located south of North Country River’s Kennebec-Dead Resort Base Complex on Rt 201 in Skowhegan. Call 207-474-9277 for a list of movies playing. $6.00 per person for adults. Children under 11 get in FREE!

Strand Movie Theatre- Skowhegan

The Strand Theatre opened in 1929 on Court Street. The red brick facade is neo-Georgian or Federal Revival, with an old-fashioned boxy marquee. The Strand, today called the Strand Cinema, was recently refurbished and shows first-run, top box office movies. Out of the NCR parking lot, take a right (south) onto Rt 201. Travel into skowhegan and turn right at the second set of lights. Located on right-hand side of the road (30 minute travel time).

Out of the NCR parking lot, take a right (south) onto Rt 201. Turn right at the second set of lights in Skowhegan onto Fairground Market Place (30 minute travel time).

Sunday morning services are at 9:30 am during the summer (late May/Early June) until the first Sunday in September. Then services begin at 10:30 am, with a fellowship hour following worship. Turn left out of the North Country Rivers parking lot and head north on Rt 201 a little over 1-mile and turn right on the Meadow Street.

Fishing Gear, Fishing/Hunting licenses, snowmobile registration, ping-pong balls, and even soft serve ice cream. Take a left out of the NCR parking lot onto Rt 201 north. William’s General Store is approximately 2-miles up 201 over a little bridge and on the right.

ATV/Snowmobile State of Maine registrations office hours are Monday – Friday (9:00AM – 4:00PM). Take a left out of North Country Rivers parking lot and go approximately 1.5 miles. Then turn right onto Murray Street and the Town Hall is located on the right hand side of the road inside the Fire Station.

Out of the parking lot, turn left (north) onto Rt 201. As you reach the end of Downtown Bingham, turn right onto Rt 16. Go 0.5 mile down the road and take a slight left onto Stream Rd. The garage is located about 0.5 miles down Stream Rd on the left hand side of the road.
